Expectations at associate level
- be able to present your work to an audience
- have good written skills and use plain english
- use a range of software to create accessible documentation where necessary
Expectations at working level
- facilitate workshops. set their agendas to encourage good outcomes, such as clear actions and next steps
- facilitate discussions within teams, with potentially difficult ideas and opinions. be prepared to challenge and be challenged
- frame a problem to help others understand it
- pitch communication at the right level for the audience. explain technical details to non-technical people
- help teams to think about full journeys
Expectations at senior level
- look for appropriate opportunities to speak about design in dwp and government
- help other designers improve their communication skills
- act as a mediator and be able to resolve conflict
