Expectations at associate level
- think about problems in a wider context, as well as the individual details in each interaction
- understand the department’s vision
- familiarise yourself with what's happening in technology, especially other services that may be used by our users
- find channels where other designers share their work
- understand departmental guidelines for sharing your work
- be able to map out user journeys
Expectations at working level
- understand and explain problems in a wider context
- look for opportunities to join up with other designers across government
- create maps and blueprints as a means to communicate whole journeys
Expectations at senior level
- help shape the direction of services being delivered
- ensure business requirements are being met and exceeded where possible
- use maps and blueprints to support strategic decision making, focusing on outcomes for a user
